Writer’s Prompt (8/17/09)
Maddi plopped firmly onto the couch with a scowl on her face. “He left without saying goodbye again.”
“Honey, you know that would have made a scene, and what sort of postition would that have put you two in?”
Maddi’s pouting expression softened. “I know. It’s just… Sometimes I wonder. Sometimes I think he’s just along for the ride, he’s just here for the action, and he knows he needs to keep up a charade or I’ll figure it out and leave him.”
“Darling, you’re making this too complex. You know him as well as I do, and we both know that…”
